Candidate for Ceredigion
A resident of Aberystwyth since 1982, I am a recently retired NHS Consultant with a long interest in the Green Party. I have stood for election at Town Council level, Unitary Authority level and Welsh Assembly level. In the 2011 Ceredigion Welsh Assembly election, I was the first Green Party candidate in Wales to retain the £500 deposit with 5.2% of the vote. For the last six years, I have served on Faenor Community Council.
Outside of politics, I am a keen hill-walker, and active in the Ramblers Association. I am in a local geology club and I take part in the Town-Twinning activities of Aberystwyth, where I am currently the secretary of Aberystwyth Kronberg Twinning. The Twinning Association has an annual visit to Kronberg-im-Taunus for their Christmas Market; and this summer we will be welcoming a group of ramblers from the Kronberg area for an exchange visit.
