Candidate for West Dorset

Kelvin Clayton

Green Party General Election Candidate

After serving 17 years as a firefighter Kelvin first gained a degree as a ‘mature student’ and then retrained to become a qualified careers adviser (gaining a PhD in Philosophy along the way). He is now actively engaged in local politics and in developing community philosophy. He chairs West & South Dorset GP, is a councillor on Bridport Town Council, and is involved in the organisation of several local organisations and events (including being a member of the trust that saved the local youth centre from closure after its funding was cut). He organises a thriving local community philosophy group, writes a monthly column in a local magazine, writes a regular blog, and is in the process of researching / writing a book on environmental ethics.
