Candidate for South Norfolk

Ben Price

Green Party General Election Candidate

A local councillor since 2012, Ben chairs the Audit committee and the Safer Neighbourhood Action Panel. His interests lie in governance and risk management as well as Licensing and he believes strongly that Britain should remain in a reformed European Union.

He has continued to run his own gardening business while representing residents at Norwich City Council and has loved living in Norfolk since 2001.

Ben says:

“People around the world are demanding politicians and governments take the dangerous breakdown of our climate seriously and act in a responsible manner that will safeguard our present and the future of our children and grandchildren. It’s time these demands were taken seriously and politicians took action to protect people.

I want to focus on supporting the rural communities of South Norfolk, helping to reduce social inequality, by developing the local economy through emerging low carbon markets. This includes helping the agricultural industry to adapt sustainably by taking new opportunities, and developing a reliable, clean and cheap public transport network.

It's very important to me to strengthen community cohesion by providing opportunities for young people to thrive: villages which have suffered from overdevelopment in recent years need infrastructure to support their new residents. I would also like to see an increase in visible policing.

Nationally, protecting our NHS from privatisation is an issue close to my heart. I believe, as a nation, we should be looking to Europe when it comes to business models and sharing scientific expertise.”
