Candidate for Reading East

Rob White

Green Party General Election Candidate

Rob White, born in 1979, is the Green Party MP candidate for the Reading East constituency.

Rob came to Reading for work in 2001. He currently lives with his wife and son in Newtown, east Reading.

Formerly an engineer, gardener and personal assistant; he joined the Green Party in 2003 after the unfair, illegal invasion of Iraq and for action on climate change. Rob was elected as a councillor in east Reading in 2010 and was Reading’s first Green councillor.

Rob has been involved in many community campaigns, such as protecting the Thames Side. Rob also led the successful campaigns to make the council a Living Wage employer and for the Council to adopt a climate change strategy.

Rob said: “Reading continues to face many challenges ranging from a sevenfold increase in rough sleeping to the loss of our green spaces. If elected as the MP for Reading East I will continue to work hard, all year round, with residents to make Reading a better place to live.”
