Candidate for Islington South and Finsbury
I've lived or worked in Islington since moving to North London in 2002 (excepting a spell in Brighton). Initially living in Mildmay and commuting to Caledonian Road, I became a devoted cyclist and joined Cycle Islington to campaign for better cycling facilities in the borough. I later moved to East Canonbury, where I still live.
I continue to volunteer with Cycle Islington, serving on the committee, and as a volunteer liaison with council officers and elected councillors. I joined the Green Party when I briefly lived in Brighton and supported the 2015 local election campaign. I stood for council in Canonbury in the 2018 local elections and helped to campaign in Highbury East. I also contribute to my local Street Association.
I grew up in Canada, surrounded by wildlife and engaged in outdoor activities. I believe that government economic policy must be reformed to disincentivise extractive and polluting activities while promoting a regenerative economic model.
I've worked as a designer, consultant and entrepreneur across print, digital, fashion and sustainability. I have a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, a Masters of Business Administration from Imperial College, and am a current PhD student at Loughborough London. I'm also a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts.
