Green Party General Election Candidate

Caroline Russell was elected as a Member of the London Assembly in May 2016. She is national Transport spokesperson, leader of the Green Group on the London Assembly, chairs the Environment Committee, is a member of the Transport, Economy and EU Exit Committees.

Caroline has lived in Islington since 1986. She came in to politics through campaigning for clean air and people friendly streets, after a career as an artist and lecturer, retraining as a civil engineer and a period of parenthood combined with community activism. She was first elected in 2014 as councillor for Highbury East ward, the only opposition councillor in Islington. She was re-elected again as the only opposition councillor in May 2018.
