Candidate for Eltham
After beginning his career working as a teacher in Japan, Matt returned to the UK to complete an MSc in Technology and Innovation Management from the world-renowned Science Policy Research Unit at the University of Sussex.
Matt has worked for the scientific publishing giant Elsevier on research workflow tooling for several years and is a strong advocate of evidence-led policy on climate mitigation and adaption. He strongly supports the radical ambitions of the Green Party to transform society for sustainability, but publicly admits to scepticism about the party's opposition to expansion of nuclear power and HS2 high-speed rail lines.
Matt was recently elected Coordinator of Greenwich and Bexley Green Party. He is married to a Japanese, has two children and has lived in the constituency he is contesting – Eltham – since 2014.
