Candidate for Crewe and Nantwich

Te Ata Browne

Green Party General Election Candidate

I am a Crewe Green Parish councillor and vice-chairperson. I hold the position of Second Officer for Cheshire East Green Party, am an active campaigner who is majorly passionate about wildlife and sustainability, also a devoted beekeeper with a background of woodland planting and management.

11,000 scientists have issued a warning of untold suffering, if humanity doesn’t change its ways. The most visible consequences of a warming world is an increase in the intensity and frequency of extreme weather events. Recent flooding in Nantwich caused chaos, forcing people to be evicted; this is expected to become more extreme. The scientific consensus is that we have limited time to change our ways. The climate crisis is here, we must demand Climate Justice by acting now!

We are champions for freedom of movement! The right to be able to work and study in 27 European countries is fantastic. We must work together with EU partners to tackle our climate emergency together. The EU have strict regulations that ban harmful pesticides, protecting our bees from further decline. We have to keep protecting insect species, they are declining eight times faster than larger animals.

My ambitions are in line with the Green Party’s core values to redirect economic policy away from an obsession with growth and towards public wellbeing, I am committed to making great efforts to getting the climate emergency to the top of the political agenda.
