Candidate for Broadland

Andrew Boswell

Green Party General Election Candidate

Andrew is an experienced politician, having been a member of Norfolk County Council and Norwich City Council.
He is an environmental consultant, specialising in planning matters. Previously, he has researched molecular biophysics and worked in IT. He is married with three grown-up children.

Andrew has actively campaigned for the Green Party in Norfolk for over fifteen years. Elected as the first Green councillor on Norfolk County Council in 2005, he was re-elected three times, representing Nelson until 2017.

Andrew says:
“Fifteen years ago, it was clear that we must change our society and politics rapidly to deal with the emergencies in climate, ecology and inequality - that's why I went into Green politics then. Now we have to do that in months, not years. The Green's vision for a socially just ecological society has never been more relevant, and achievable given people's increased awareness of the need for change, and disillusionment with business as usual and two-party politics.

This election is critical to the future of our country. Recently, many people have become very concerned about tackling the climate emergency. The country is also very divided over Brexit. This election is about how our country develops for the next generation: both on protecting the planet, and the UK’s relationship with the rest of the world. ”
