Candidate for Birmingham, Selly Oak
I have lived in the Selly Oak constituency for the past six years and have many friends and family in the area. I want to make a positive difference to the lives of people here and across the country.
I work for a charity that provides advocacy and support for adults with Learning Disabilities across South Birmingham and I have seen first hand the devastating impact that austerity has had on our community. I have also been a campaigner on many environmental and social justice issues for many years.
Living and working here has given me an intimate knowledge of the area and the issues facing it, such as air pollution caused by congestion, a planning system that favours speculative development over community benefit and cuts to services that so many of us rely on. These problems can all be fixed, but they require politicians who are determined to do so by taking brave decisions.
I am proud to have been selected as the Green Party candidate for Birmingham, Selly Oak in the 2019 General Election and would be even prouder if elected by the constituents. I am hard working and believe in public service, so would do my very best to improve the lives of all the citizens of this wonderful area.
