Candidate for Basildon and Billericay
I'm a lifelong resident of south Essex and have lived in Billericay for the past 25 years. I've worked in the charity sector for many years and in 2012 became the Chief Executive of the Wembley National Stadium Trust, working to develop community sports initiatives up and down the country. As a keen sports fan, I ran several local clubs and now spend far too much time watching sport of any kind. I was vice chair of governors at my local infant and nursery school for around 15 years and until recently was the chair of trustees at Essex Wildlife Trust, the county's leading environmental and conservation charity. I'm also the Honorary Secretary of the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts, helping to co-ordinate the movement nationally. I'm a keen wildlife photographer and spend many happy hours walking out on the remote Essex coastal marshes. We're also slowly working our way around all of the Hebridean islands. Concern for the natural world and building a sustainable future is one of my core interests and passions - and so Green Party politics is an obvious home for me.
